Podcast popularity is on the rise with more than 51% of the U.S. population having listened to podcasts. According to a report confirmed earlier this year by Apple, there are more than 900,000 podcasts available to choose from with more than 30 million episodes. We've done some digging and identified the following ocean-themed podcasts for your listening pleasure. The hosts vary from marine biologists to research teams to scuba enthusiasts. Give one a listen on your morning commute or en route to your next dive destination.
1. World Ocean Radio
World Ocean Radio is a project of the World Ocean Observatory. This is a weekly series that features five-minute talks on a wide range of ocean topics.
2. The League of Extraordinary Divers
Listen as some of the most legendary divers — from conservationists to photographers to industry experts — recount their favorite underwater stories and give tips for great diving.
3. Ocean Currents Radio Program
This series is a product of NOAA's Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary and is hosted by Jennifer Stock. The show frequently features ocean experts who speak on a wide range of topics like ocean research, management issues and even natural history.
4. NOAA Ocean Podcasts
Researchers and ocean experts explore topics from corals to coastal science in short episodes that highlight NOAA’s ongoing projects.
5. The Great Dive Podcast
